The town of Strasburg is a quaint town located a few miles
away from the heart of Lancaster City and Flowers & Thyme Bed and Breakfast. Strasburg is a small town surrounded by
Lancaster County farmland but filled with activities for locals and tourists to
experience- whether as an entire day trip or a few free hours in the morning or
the Strasburg Railroad. Thomas the Tank Engine chugs into the Strasburg station to provide a scenic train ride into the
farmland towards the town of Paradise. Whenever Thomas is not stationed in
Strasburg, a locomotive with open windows provides the perfect transportation
to enjoy the sights of the area.
Regardless of age, a train ride through the farmland provide fantastic
picture opportunities. The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is also located in Strasburg across from the train station.
Whether before or after visiting the Strasburg Railroad, the
local creamery is a favorite local spot to visit. Growing up for a few years in
Strasburg, a memory is walking down the brick sidewalks to the creamery to
enjoy ice cream in a freshly made waffle cone. As you experience the town of Strasburg, you cannot miss
the creamery located on the corner of Main Street. The Creamery and a train ride are not the only
activities to experience in Strasburg as the town is filled with locally owned shops, antique shops and museums. This is a wonderful day trip during your stay at Flowers & Thyme Bed and Breakfast. Ask us about other local day trips!
