Hiking in Lancaster County

Within Lancaster County there are many hiking trails and opportunities for experienced hikers or those just wanting a nice walk!  Each year American Hiking Society has National Trails Day which is the largest event of trails in the country.  Saturday, June 4, 2016 will be the date when activities and events are planned across all states and will include hikes, horseback riding, geocaching, birding, biking and so much more. This would be a great day to explore some of the wonderful trails that Lancaster County has to offer. One trail that I hope to explore more this summer is located in Martic Township called Tucquan Glen Nature Preserve. This preserve is very scenic and wooded as it maneuvers around streams, a waterfall, and railroad tracks near the Susquehanna River.Stream flowing over many rocks in a wooded area with rhododendron and other bushes

Whether you hike, bike, horseback ride, or go birding on June 4th or other times this summer, take time to explore the outdoors and all that Lancaster County has to offer when you visit us. We have information at the Bed and Breakfast on these activities so just ask us!
