With everyone beginning the new year with new diet plans, weight loss programs, exercise and gym start ups, this is a great time to re-visit some tried and true healthy breakfast recipes. Last week as I was cleaning off the kitchen counters and the pile of recipes that accumulated, I found several I had made a few months ago and decided to make them again. My daughter LOVES to make berry parfaits with home made granola and locally made yogurt. The recipe for the granola is posted on the website in the Recipe Page. It is an easy and quick way to make a delicious batch of granola…and so many options for variety since you can add whatever dried fruit you prefer. This time I added dried cranberries to the mix!
First step is to mix the first few ingredients in a saucepan.
Then mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Pour the liquid mix into the dry mix stirring well to coat evenly.
Spread it evenly onto baking sheets with parchmont paper and bake till golden brown.
Yummy! Delicious! Healthy! And the smell of this when baking in your kitchen is a wonderful bonus!
