Recently in the news was the fact that the third Monday in January is known as Blue Monday. Apparently this is because it is the most depressing day of the year. After the highs of the Christmas holiday and the celebration of the New Year, reality hits. Why not turn a negative into a positive? Why feel downcast when in a few short weeks, Valentine’s Day will be here and soon after the first day of Spring arrives! It is time to celebrate the seasons and the diversity each one brings. Life happens too quickly to dwell on the negatives. There are many fun and enjoyable things to do during the winter blue months. One great event to look forward to is the annual Fire and Ice Festival in Lititz. During the weekend of February 17-20, Lititz hosts a Block Party, Chili Cook Off, Dodgeball Tournament, Community Movie Night, and a Winter Wonderland Carnival. Along the main streets of Lititz, there will be over 50 ice carvings on display. These are remarkable pieces of handcrafted “art” and such fun as you stroll through the town and visit the many unique shops that made Lititz “the coolest small town in America”.
This is only one of many great things happening in Lancaster during the winter months. Time to take a break from the “blues” and enjoy one of the many fun winter activities that are offered. We would love to have you stay with us and can help you with planning your visit.
