Crazy to think why these three “M” words are placed together in the same line. Well, alliteration was the goal in order to show what is happening during the month of February in and around Lancaster County!
MOOSE: The Great American Outdoor Show is being held starting this weekend February 4 and runs through the 12th. Billed as the “world’s largest outdoor show”, this event captures the hearts of all hunters, fisherman and outdoors people. There are over 1000 exhibitors with plenty of celebrity appearances, demonstrations, seminars, and FUN for the entire family. (OK – so technically this is not in Lancaster County, but close enough!)
MUD: The mud sales in Lancaster County begin this month in the town of Strasburg on Saturday, February 25th. These mud sales have been a fund raising event for years and get their name from the condition of the ground when thawing occurs at winters’ end and early spring. Quilts, baked goods, plants and bushes, livestock, produce, antiques, craft items are all up for bid. These community events attract visitors from far and wide and the locals enjoy helping out the community by supporting these auctions.
MUSIC: Lancaster Roots and Blues is from February 24-26, 2017 and held in various venues in downtown Lancaster. This fun music festival brings all types of musical talent to our city including Jazz, Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Funk, Soul, and Rock & Roll from over 70 artists. Lots of talent and great way to enjoy the many venues in the city. Join the fun and celebrate the roots of American music.
So there are the 3 M’s of February…guess you could add MONEY to the list since there are plenty of opportunities to spend it at these various events! Enjoy February!
