Explore Pennsylvania History – Sunday, March 12, 2017

The Pennsylvania Charter Days will be celebrated on Sunday, March 12th this year in celebration of the Commonwealth’s 336th birthday. This is a wonderful time to explore the many state museums and historical sites along the Pennsylvania Trails of History as they offer FREE admission for the day. Lancaster County offers Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, and Ephrata Cloister. These are all unique and interesting places to visit while touring the area.  Landis Valley is about a German rural community depicting 18th & 19th century life. Ephrata Cloister is about a religious community that settled in Ephrata in 1732 by German settlers. And of course, trains…the Railroad Museum showcases various trains and the history of the railroads. Plan to take part in our State’s birthday celebration by learning about the history of this area!
