In the spirit of baseball’s #openingday, the old Abbott and Costello routine came to mind! We chuckle each time that is heard…because we can all relate to that confusion in our lives sometimes! Here in the Lancaster area, as in probably other areas as well, we have First Friday, Second Friday, Third Friday, etc. events throughout downtown Lancaster and surrounding communities. To avoid confusion, here is a breakdown of who is on first, what is on second…
First Friday: Visit Historic downtown Lancaster. The activities are centered around Gallery Row (Prince Street area) and the many art galleries and restaurants are open after 5 PM offering their displays and venues for all to see. The sidewalks are filled with happy strollers enjoying the music and refreshments offered.
Second Friday: The 2015 Coolest Small Town in America, Lititz, is the place to be from 5-9 PM. Enthusiast visitors can shop the many boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants along Main Street and enjoy musicians and entertainers mingling on the patios and sidewalks.
Third Friday: Back to downtown Lancaster for Music Friday! Live musicians can be found in restaurants, retailers, and other attractions as venues extend their hours to host these musicians.
Fourth Friday: River Towns (Columbia, Wrightsville & Marietta) can be discovered and their distinct charm can be seen as you visit the galleries, restaurants, antique and speciality shops along the Susquehanna River.
So Friday nights are never boring in Lancaster County! Take some time to visit these communities and enjoy all that is offered.
